I spent some of my innovation time today writing a JavaScript bookmarklet for those who need an easy, one-click method of accessing the SUSS URL Shortening Service (CAC and .mil access only). The purpose of this bookmarklet is to submit the URL of the page currently being viewed automatically to SUSS, providing a 35 character SUSS branded link that redirects to the original hyperlink.

I read of the recent deaths of Nepalese and Sri Lankan peacekeepers in Haiti. As I was deployed there at a platoon leader for 5 months as part of the UN mission in 1995, I have continued to follow the events there over the years. These are a few notes I've made to a junior officer mailing list over the last year.
